Viola looked around the room of Aidan's apartment. Everything was still in place, which is weird because normally his dad would have moved something around. His dad... "Well, all we need is the copies. Unless you need anything else."
She looked at Aidan. Normally, he would remember something else that he needed at the last second. "If you don't need anything else I'm headed to the library."

Aidan nodded, trying not too look as freaked as he felt... to not burst out again as a new wave of grief and anguish assaulted him. He opened his mouth just to close it, not sure if he trusted himself with words. Finally Aidan felt that it was safe to breathe. "I have the laptop and stuff." He paused and looked around. "Oh, and we'll need the notebooks for anything else. You know... note-taking and such.
Aidan didn't take forever to get everything. He couldn't be here any longer... he had to get out. It was as if the apartment was closing in on him and he had no room to breathe. Once the notebooks and copies were procured and safely stashed in a bag he turned to leave.
"Let's go.... I'll walk you there." His face still had the ashen look, but his eyes were steeled against the pain. He was done with that... for now. He had to get past the next few days and to finish this case.

Viola grabbed Aidan's hand and walked him out of the apartment. He didn't need to be in there right now. It would bring back too much memories and he needed to keep his mind on the case.
She never let go of his hand as they walked down the stairs and back to the street. The entire way, though, she could see shadows lurking around corners. Viola didn't like the way they moved without any light to make the move.
