((IDENTITLY THEIFT! AIDAN IS NOW CAYDEN FOR SOME REASON!....get your stories straight Elli))
Viola was embarrassed over tripping in the first place that she didn't know what to say. She looked at Aidan ((Aidan not Cayden)) for split second eye's wide and then spoke really fast. "Uh..Yeah..research..home...bye," she said dragging Aidan out the door.

"I should say you'd better be going home. Do either of you know what time it is?" Drummer shook his head, checking his watch. "Do your parents know you're out this late?"
"Drummer, leave them be. They'll learn when they have to wake up to actually present their findings." One side of Gilbert's mouth twitched up in a small, sort-of smile. "You didn't do this when you were in school?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------
England was not friendly to a young teenage boy carrying his four year old sister. It was not friendly to two victims of neglective abuse.
Dan's legs were screaming for him to stop, to lay down and rest for a moment, just a moment, before pressing onwards and away. Krissi was heavy, now becoming painfully so; the bags of supplies he had laced across his shoulders were forcefully digging their way into his skin; he could feel the welts forming. But still he continued on, farther and farther away from what was supposed to be home, away from abandonment, away from a future, away from his life.
His eyes seemed to absorb the moonlight, reflecting its pallid beams, as still he went on, ignoring his body's pleas of mercy.

Kern decided that enough was enough, and began to pack up for home. Looking around for one last chance to find his secretary. Shaking his head he shut off the lights and closed the locked door oblivious to the fact that the woman he was looking for was lying in the closet... dead.
Walking out of the station, he looked up at the sky for a bit, and smiled up at the stars. Coming back to the earth he began to walk home when a shadow made him look again. He could have sworn he saw somone.
He walked on and then spotted a boy with something on his back that resembled a small body. His detective sense urging him to go look he went over there and the closer he got the more he could tell how the trod was tired and the form on his back was a little girl.
When he was close enough that he could be heard without shouting he spoke out. "Hello?" ----------- Aidan followed her out of the coffee shop, wondering what they were going to do next.
((You know what Hay... stuff it XD. And I couldn't think of anything to say more for Aidan. Sorry))

"Hello?"
Dan's face whipped about, his eyes wild, his heart racing. Someone couldn't have found them already; it just wasn't possible. He didn't want it to be possible.
He said nothing, merely quickened his pace, hoping to outrun this sudden threat. His muscles shrieked, refusing to move any quicker, if at all. Krissi's limp form continued to hinder his movement, the bags of supplies both a necessity and a burden. But still he went on, trying to evade this well-meaning stranger.

Viola pulled Aidan out past the Coffee shop. Once she knew that no one was near to hear or know what they were saying she spoke to him. "We are heading back to you're apartment of course. An idea just popped into my head."
A giggle came out of her mouth. "I can't believe I didn't think of it before. Everytime we tried to get on, we would get shut down. What I didn't tell you at the time was that everytime we did get in, I noticed a few things that weren't there the time before. Then we would get shut off. When we got back in, that information would be gone and something totally different would be there."
Viola waited for his reaction.

"So you're saying that sometimes we would see the actual information and then it was changed?" Aidan really didn't get what she was trying to say, ((for this author is tired)) and wasn't sure if there was a way around it. ------ Kern shook his head and uttered a 'stupid kid' under his breath as he began pursuit. He wasn't sure why the youth was running but instinct always lead him to go after someone running away. Besides, he couldn't leave someone out alone with all of thses murders going on.
He slowly began to quicken his pace, slowly gaining on the kid. He may be old but he is very fit, and it was very obvious that his target was already tired out.

Just go away, was Dan's silent plea, Just go away and leave me and my sister the f#$@ alone...
Dan always swore whenever he was terrified; this stranger was doing nothing to steady his nerves. They were already fleeing from their parent, who most likely wouldn't care, and civilization. Dan was exhausted, Krissi was heavy, and now this nosy, Good-Samaritan-imposter wanted to help. Help was the last thing Dan needed, especially when it came from such a questionable source.

"Well, close," Viola replied. "What I'm saying is that whoever is monitoring us keeps changing the information. He will keep a few things in there the same, but will change really important information like the name or the results. The information that doesn't matter much they will leave left alone."
Viola laughed at herself again. How could she be so stupid. she thought to herself. "So what I'm saying is there are times we will see the actual information, but the next time we get on its different because the person changed it on us,"she smiled as she went on." What we have to do is keep getting on and writing down the information every time. Then we can put the information together and figure out which one is really the truth!"
She felt jazzed that she could finally figure this out!

Aidan thought for a moment before looking up, "that would work. But what if that person changes the same things?" He didn't want to bring down Viola's happiness, but if the person was smart enough to do what Viola was talking about maybe he already had planned ahead for that type of thing. ---------- Kern shook his head, he worried now that the boy had done something bad. Maybe kidnapped his girlfriend's daughter or something. He started to gain on the boy slowly but surely, and he was pretty sure that the boy was becoming tired. "Slow down there. I only want to talk with you. If you keep running I'm only going to assume that you did something worth arresting you and I'll take you down to the station."
He didn't know if what he said would work, but he hoped for the kids' sake that the boy would listen.

Viola smiled, knowing already what Aidan was trying to say. "Here's the thing: I have already tried to do this before. My cousin and I tested it a while ago. If you change information so the person hacking can't see the real info, then next time they try to hack you can't get through to change it again. You can change some other info, but not the same one. It won't let you. It's like the computer has a mind of its own and won't let you back into the same spot to change it."
Viola felt proud for knowing this. She was a well-trained hacker. She learned from the best and even Aidan doesn't know who that is.

((I am thoroughly enjoying my soup and bread right now.... ) "Please," Dan finally managed to gasp, "Please go away." He wanted to scream, to run faster, but he did not have the energy for either. "I haven't done anything, you see, so please, please, just leave me alone." Daniel Chevalglass's silver-ish eyes were pleading, shining even, in the moonlight, begging this well-meaning stranger to go away. Can't you see that's what's best? he asked silently.

Kern shook his head and gave what he thought was a knowing look. "How about you tell me what's wrong? There is obviously something going on. And it's my job to help others." He paused for a moment thinking of something that would allow the boy to even think of listening to him. He obviously had a distrust of him... whether it was the police side of him or something else. Either way it wasn't going to help. ------- Aidan shook his head, "I don't know why I try to keep up anymore."

Dan blanched.
This man was with the police.
Just my luck, spat the teen silenty, I get helped by the people I'm trying to avoid.
"I...I..." Daniel tried to come up with a convincing lie, but none showed their faces. Perhaps simply omitting certain truths might help.
"We, this is my sister, please don't wake her up, we're running from our f-foster home." The lie struck him then, smooth and oily, and he used it as quick as he could. "I'm trying to make it to a friend's house. And I think they're after us, sir, and I really just need to keep on going. Please."

Kern looked at the boy for a moment. If the kid really was with foster care, this had to be the first time he had tried to run away. "Well you're not going to get far are you? Running away with her on your back, and going to your friend's house? That is a sure fire way of getting caught."
Why was he giving this kid advice on how to get away? Was it cause of the way he's seen how foster care is? Or maybe he just didn't want something to happen to them? No matter what the answer was he knew that he would end up helping them.

Daniel was starting to get mad. Only starting, but still. Why wouldn't this man take the hint and leave them be?
"It's not, sir, I promise you." Daniel shifted beneath Krissi's weight, trying to adjust the sling-straps. "She doesn't know who this friend is. I met them at work."
Daniel turned away from their trying-to-be-helpful-leech, starting to move on. "Thank you for your concern, sir, but it really isn't needed."

Viola giggled at Aidan. "I don't know why you even try either! All I'm saying is that we have a lot of work ahead of us... Can you understand that?"
She knew Aidan wasn't gonna like the idea that much, but she was on a role now. She knew that she could do this.

Aidan groaned, "I need to be careful with what cases I show you anymore... it scares me when you get like this." ------- Kern shook his head, knowing that the boy was probably going crazy by now. "Can I at least make sure you get there? I have a son of my own and I can't see you walking tonight alone with all of the murders."

Daniel instinctively shied away from the man, guarding Krissi as well as he could.
"No, no, we'll be fine," he countered, trying not to think to deeply about what the man had said. What sort of murders was he talking about?
"Thank you, anyway, but..."
Daniel left it at that.
((Sorry it's so short; Drummer, Gilbert, and Cimmerian are being lazy and I have maths to do...))

Viola grinned evily. She knew that she probably got into the cases too much, but she loved it. Since hacking is illegal, she always did it for the good of the people. When she told Aidan that he replied with,"That's what they all say!"
"Come on lets get going. We don't want to waste any time!"
((Don't worry..mines a little short to!))

Aidan groaned, this will never be good. "You know, I believe that there is such a thing as being an overachiever..." he shook his head, knowing full well that whatever he said would not in any way change Viola's mind set. ---------- Kern just shook his head the boy obviously did not think ahead for too far, but there really wasn't much he could do.
He pulled out his wallet, removing a card, and then slowly handing out a card to him. He also handed him a baggie that had some change and a couple ones. It was the money that he would sometimes give to homeless men or for a payphone if his cell quit. "Here's some change and a few of my numbers. Just in case you need to get ahold of me, at anytime. I have a son around your age..."
He stopped talking and looked at him. There really wasn't anymore he could do to help the reluctant teen. He only hoped that nothing would happen to the poor souls.
