He frowned, looking at the ground. "I... I want to do something other than sit around and get the kindling for the fire. I want to do something with my life... surely you udnerstand that."

Alaric smiled sympathetically at Wilhelm. "Yes I do understand, but sometimes the best thing you can do are the small things."

Silent again, Wilhelm looked up into Alaric's eyes. "You have the eyes of my brother."

Alaric shook his head, finally tired of the boy's brother crap. "Okay kid, stop. I am not your brother. You should probably get used to the fact: he's probably dead. I am just some guy who looks similar to him and owns the same name. Your grief is trying to make me into something I'm not. Now if you know what's good for you, you will go home and not talk about this again."
With that Alaric turned away from Wilhelm and started walking back to the camp. He was tired of the boy, and would have to file some sort of report to his commanding officer. He laughed at the idea of it. The fact that the rebels were so organized as to have officers and such was not even in their enemies' dreams. Which would help them all the more.

Wilhelm frowned at the comment Alaric had made about his brother supposedly being dead. It hurt him deep inside - he had lived his life believing his brother was still out there... somewhere... and he would be able to find him. Still, his beliefs almost shattered right then and there. No one had ever been so blunt about his brother before in his life, so how could he do anything but stand there and stutter over his words.
When he looked up, though, Alaric was at least twenty yards away from him. Funny - how things could happen so quickly when he was mulling over his thoughts. He took a step forward, and another, and another, and soon he was following Alaric through the woods, still keeping about ten or so yards away from him.

Quickly Alaric made his way back to the encampment. The other men there were throwing jeers at him, asking if he had killed the king yet. Alaric got right back into his normal routine at camp, throwing comments back at the men, questioning their mother's relationship with a pig.
His path went straight towards the center of camp, where a large tent stood. Standing up straight at attention he stared at the flap. "Permission to enter?"

Wilhelm walked into the camp before he had time to actually think about the action. He glanced about, jaw dropping after seeing so many people in one camp, and was about to leave as fast as he came when he was jumped.
One of the guards grinned, patting Alaric on the back. "Don't be such a stiff. Go on in," he replied with a chuckle.

Walking on his assigned path Geoff saw a little boy wandering around. Immediately he jumped on him, making sure that he couldn't run. "So lil' boy. What 'cha doing here? Some spy work, 'eh?"
Geoff stood up, keeping a firm grip on the boy's shirt.

Wilhelm's voice broke in his desperation, legs and arms flailing around as he tried to get away from the new threat. "No! I'm not a spy!"

The man gripped tighter on the boy. "Stop ye're strugglin' boy. There ain't gonna be anything happenin' to ya unless ta' comandehr 'is'elf deems it so." Geoff shook his head and started towards the central tent. This wasn't the first time that a boy got it in his head to join the rebellion, and it wouldn't be the last time either.
Alaric stood before the tent flap waiting for his entrance to be granted. The sooner he was debriefed, the sooner he could eat, and then get some shut eye for tomorrow's mission.

Wilhelm let out a loud scream, pulling as hard as he could to get away from his captor.

Alaric shook his head and spouted a well worded retort before going into the tent. He thought he heard a scream, but passed it off as someone practicing. Alaric stepped inside and spotted the commander. "Ready for the debriefing, sir!"
Geoff shook Wilhelm a little trying to silence the boy. "Quiet ye're shoutin' boy. We ain't gonna harm ye, just let tah commandehr decide yer're fate. Be it stayin' 'ere, or sendin' ye home."
((Curse my lack of skills with dialect and keep it the same throughout a character! Bah lol))

((Yes! Curse your lack of skills with dialect! XDD And I refuse to be the commander, jus' sayin'.))
Wilhelm's exclaims dulled to that of a whimper, holding onto the tight arm around his waist as he was dragged along.

Alaric nodded at the Commander and quickly stated what there was to state. That nothing eventful had happened. No troop movement, nothing. Which is both a good and a bad thing.
Geoff slowly dragged Wilhelm towards the tent. Finally, the duo stood in front of the entrance flap. "I'm comin' in commandehr. So if tere's anyting I shouldn' see ye best cover it ahp." He waited for a moment before dragging Wilhelm into the tent.
Alaric stared at the boy with shock as Geoff spoke. "Found 'im walkin' around tah cahmp. What should I do it?"

Eyed bulged out of his head as he saw Alaric. "Alaric! Help! Please! I haven't done anything!"

The Commander, Todd, stood up slowly. "Alaric? You know this boy?"
Alaric shook his head, "No sir. He's just some boy that is convinced that I am his long lost brother or something."
Todd looked questioningly at Alaric, "And is he?"
"No sir."
"Should I just leave 'im 'ere for ye? Or shall I jus' stehy 'ere anh 'eep a'old of 'im?"
Todd waved a hand at Geoff, "You are relieved. We can take care of it from here." He smiled at the boy. "Now, would you please tell me who you are and why you are here?"

Wilhelm blushed, looking at the ground, embarrassed about the situation he found himself in. "...I'm Wilhelm."

Todd nodded calmly, after all it was not his first time trying to get some information from a boy. "Why are you in my camp Wilhelm?"
Alaric took a step back trying to think reasonably. The fact that the boy had followed him to the camp made him angry at himself. If he was not able to spy a young boy following him, then he how is he supposed to see an enemy following him who is skilled in stalking?!

"I- I-" Wilhelm stuttered, a cold chill drifting up his spine as he stood there, his eyes gazing into those of the larger man. Suddenly, as he couldn't help it, his gaze flitted to Alaric's, pleading for help without saying a word.

Alaric sighed, he could tell that the boy was way over his head. He stepped closer for a moment. "I thought you were following me. Kid, I told you to go home."
Todd looked up at him for a moment and nodded his head. He stood up straighter, "I see. Why did you follow him?"
