Arabella nodded a little bit. Tomorrow. Nothing was really planned for tomorrow, though she was thinking on going back to Carter's grave. But she did that everyday. Maybe I should try to break away from this habit...
"I think I would like to stay at home tomorrow," she paused, thinking of something else to say. "I don't think Carter would want me at his grave every day."

Gabriel nodded his head, "okay, then I'll pick something up to cook." He thought about maybe just doing some simple hamburger helper. Which would call for a pound of hamburger and a box of hamburger helper. It was good enough when something else was added. Like maybe some green beans.
He didn't dare mention that Arabella's college was starting up soon. In a way it was good that Carter's death had happened in the summer although that just meant that she could spend more time grieving.
On a side note, when Arabella went back to college, that meant that Gabriel would be going back to work. Not on a large scale, no he would have to be able to make it back in time. But they weren't just going to all of a sudden not need money. Really, he just needed to do a job a month and they would be fine. Maybe two a month. The world was such a corrupted place.

When they reached the house, Arabella went straight up to her room. It was her only escape from Gabriel. She hated avoiding Gabriel, but she didn't like his constant watch on things. He used to always come over and hang out and be a great friend to her and Carter. But since Carter died, he has acted differently. I want the old Gabe back.
Arabella could hear him shuffeling downstairs in the kitchen. Maybe ignoring him hasn't been helping much. Her thoughts were cloudy. She didn't know what to do anymore, but she needed to find a way to get over it before college started back up. Silently, she poked her head out the window to listen to what Gabriel was doing before interupting him.

Gabriel held his cell phone to his ear, listening intently, and nodding every now and then. It was highly imperative that he remember all of the details of this conversation.
"Yes... yes I understand. No. I have to wait a few more months until I am free, but once I am I can do the job right away. No, I'll have all the details planned out before then. Yes."
He paused, this job was no different than any other job. It was a hit on a corrupt congressman, nothing really unusual. All he really would need for it was he sniper rifle, and a good solid place to strike and leave.
Of course he would have to wait until Arabella went to college. That would be safer than leaving her at home alone. Gabriel held the phone between his shoulder and ear as he heated up some food for his meal.

Arabella could hear him talking on the phone with someone, but the words coming out weren't making much sense. Slowly, she walked downstairs, trying to keep quiet. She walked into Carter's room, Gabriel not seeing her.
The room still smelled of him. Arabella looked around. Nothing was out of place. Laying on his bed, she looked at the ceiling, her eyes starting to droop. Next thing she knew, she was dreaming.

Gabriel nodded his head a few more times. He had the facts, and was already formulating some sort of plan. All he had to do now was some simple research on the man's whereabouts. A beep told Gabriel that his food was done. He quickly spoke a few more words before saying goodbye and hanging up.
Gabriel pulled his food out of the microwave and began to eat his supper. It wasn't as good as a fresh home cooked meal, but he would have to live a while without that. Some reason, grocery shopping didn't appease to him. Maybe the fact that he never enjoyed it probably helped. He did enjoy cooking though.
A thought then came to Gabriel. Gabriel wondered if maybe Arabella would eat more if he cooked something up.
He began to go towards the stairs when he noticed the door to Carter's room was barely opened. Not fully closed like it normally was. Gabriel's eyes softened. So she was in there again. Softly he knocked on the door.
"Arabella? You okay?"

Arabella walked around in the familiar fog that had been her dream for the past few weeks. Only this one seemed different. She felt as if she was actually there. That's when she spotted him. Carter. He's smiling and walking up toward her. His hair blowing in the wind that doesn't seem to exist. Arabella couldn't move. It wasn't the fact that she was actually seeing him in one of her dreams. She saw him all of the time. It was the fact that she could see his wound.
Next thing she knew, Carter was embracing her with a big hug. He felt so warm.
"You need to move on, Aria." His usual nickname for her stings her heart little. But he was speaking to her and it made her a little happy knowing that he could be with her in some place.
"But how," Arabella talks back, not letting go of his hug. "It's hard without you now.
"That's why Gabriel is there."
Arabella sighs. "Yeah, to protect me."
Carter smiles and grabs a hold of her chin to make her look into his eyes. "He's also there as a friend. Just give him a chance."
"Okay."
"Arabella? You okay?" This was a totally different voice than anyone in her dream, and it was taking her out of sleep. Her eyes widened, not wanting to leave Carter.
"Don't worry," Carter smiles. "I will always be here waiting for you in your dreams. We can talk through here."
"Okay, Carter. I will be back soon."
Slowly, Arabella opens her eyes. In the doorway stand Gabriel wondering if she was alright. "Yeah. I'm fine."

Gabriel nodded, although Arabella couldn't see him. He knew how tough it was for her and that it probably wouldn't get all that easier.
"Hey Arabella? I was wondering what you would like for supper tomorrow night. I'll cook, so what are you up for?"
Gabriel tried to make his voice sound light hearted, but that was a difficult job on its own.

(I love how I provide a monster post and you reply with that little dinky thing! lol jk!!!)
Arabella walked up to the door, opening it more so she could see him. But she didn't know how close he was and accidentally got too close to him. She looked up and looked into his eyes, immediately looking back down and backing up.
"I don't know," she replied, turning off Carters light and shutting the door. "What are you in the mood for." Arabella could tell that Gabriel was trying to make her feel better, but maybe he could try a little less and just be himself. What am I going to do change him? At least he is trying.

Gabriel backed up a little bit, giving Arabella some space. She didn't really answer his question though, and so did not help him out in the least.
"Come on Arabella, give me a hint what you would like to eat? You know I'll eat just about anything at anytime" He laughed a little bit at himself, "so really I am not a problem."
Gabriel paused for a second, trying to figure out how to word the next few words. He had to laugh at himself in his mind. Give him an assassination to plan and commence with and he could do it without sweating. But place him in any emotional type areas and he was a lost man.
"I really don't even know what you like to eat."

(You are gonna like my meal..lol)
Arabella smirked. She knew exactly what she wanted to eat. It was always Carter's favorite. It was the first meal that they had ever made together when they were younger. They called it Ninja Pasta. They always ate it the chance they got.
Slowly, Arabella grabbed a hold of Gabriels wrist. "Here. I will show you." She led him to the kitchen and got out the written recipe that Carter had made. "That is what I want to eat."

Gabriel looked at the recipe for a few minutes and then up at Arabella. "Ninja Pasta?"
He looked over the ingredients. He was positive that he had all of it. The velveeta, the elbow macaroni, the milk, the butter, and the spaghetti noodles. He really was not sure what to say. Never had Gabriel heard of the meal, nor had he tried it.
"Arabella... can I ask how this recipe came to be?" Somewhere in the recess of Gabriel's mind he wondered if he really wanted to know or not. But hey, at least she wanted to eat something.

Arabella sat down by the table as Gabriel examined the recipe. A weird look came across her face and she couldn't help but giggle at the expression.
"Arabella... can I ask how this recipe came to be?"
Arabella stared at him, as smile forming in her lips. "When Carter and I were younger we made it up. We were hungry and Carter didn't really know how to cook much at that time, so he decided to make home-made macaroni. The only problem was that we didn't have enought macaroni noodles. We had to add some things into it." The memory brought back a lot. Carter would always make Ninja Pasta for her birthday ever since. It was their special meal. She didn't mind sharing it though.

Gabriel shook his head. "How should I have known..." He tried to hold back a laugh which caught weird in his throat, causing Gabriel to cough. After a couple seconds ticked by the coughing fit began to subside, but his eyes watered slightly.
What was it about a coughing fit that made one's eyes water? He really didn't expect (or want) an answer. It was just one of those thoughts that ticked by in the endless way his mind worked.
Gabriel looked back at the recipe. "Arabella? I can make this tonight if you would like, or I can just do it tomorrow night as planned. It's your choice."

Arabella thought about he offer for a moment. She was still hungry, but only a little. And she hadn't eaten much lately. "Yeah, go ahead and make it. I don't mind." As she spoke, her stomach growled. "Though, you have to let me help you." (okay...i dont know what else to say.. )

Gabriel nodded and started to pull out random objects, some of which were unneeded. Soon a deep pot sat in front of him. He double checked the recipe, yeah all he needed was a lot of water. The tap was turned on and he commenced filling the pot.
"Hey Arabella could you get out the pasta we need? I still have no clue where most the stuff is in this kitchen." He glanced around for a second. "Scratch that, I only know where the cups, plates, and now pots are. Oh and silverware."
Gabriel shook his head, really he needed to become more familiar with this kitchen. He had a feeling that he would be staying here for awhile. Although he still kept his apartment which was nearby. That was where all of his 'business supplies' were.

Arabella smiled and grabbed the noodles out of the cabinet."Maybe I should just label everything for you so you know where it is," she said with a giggle. Her mood was lightening up after spending two weeks skulking around. That dream she had really cheered her up. Arabella put the noodles on the counter. "Anything else you need help finding?"

Gabriel nodded, "maybe... it would probably work out better for me than just seek and find." Another cabinet was opened and then shut. A glare formed on Gabriel's face aimed at the cabinets. "I can't find the big sthings now..."
He went over to the sink to shut off the water, noticing that the pot was a little bit over halfway full. "Is this enough water?"

(Is there like any way that we can speed up the process of the cooking. If you wouldn't mind. I just think that little scene we are doing is taking too long. We need to find away for them both to connect or accidentally touch. Something that would kinda make since with what we want to do here.)

((Agreed... maybe have the water boiling over.... buahaha... time lapse so that the pan is on the stove and then the water begins to boil over. Then each one reaches to turn it off, and then... BAM!!!! Lol, just an idea, but it would probably make things ten times easier on us))
