Cari lay on her back and Gaddan placed his head, the size of her torso, on her body, purring like a kitten as he fell asleep. She was a nice, warm, pillow for a cold-blooded dragon, but she did not mind. Her only regret the next day was that she hadn't slept on the soft bed she had prepared. She woke up when Gaddan moved from her side. She stood and stretched. She had grown so used to sleeping on hard ground that she barely felt the dull pain in her muscles. She then realized that they had been gone for a whole day! -She was never meant to be gone so long and undoubtably, K was looking for her. She shook Clay's shoulders wildly and Gaddan did some stomping to stir Fafnir although he probably wasn't asleep anyway. Pyro woke of his own accord, stood up with effort.

'Huh? wha-?', Clay asked blinking, as he was shaken from his dreams. He yawned lowdly, lifting his hands behind his head and stretching lazily. 'Time to go already?', he asked as he looked around scratching his head. His red hair was a mess.
Fafnir looked up. He looked much better then he did the last night. 'Good morning!' he said to Clay. 'I'm hungry...' he groaned. Clay smirked. 'Aye.. me too. Oi Cari!', he shouted and then paused, 'I can still call yeh tha reight? Do we have any breakfeast?'

Gaddan returned from the forest and dropped the rotting carcass of an unrecognizable creature before Fafnir. The dragons began feasting. ((that is, unless Fafnir's a vegetarian. XD)) Cari made a face, "I am not hungry, are you hungry?" Pyro began walking into the trees and Cari ignored him for the moment. She stretched some more, "We need to go now, for K will be looking for us, -he most likely has already. He will be angry at all five of us, reguardless of injuries."

'Well... I guess I can hold it till we ge there...' As Pyro dissapeared in teh trees, Clay walked after him. 'Oi Pyro! Where are ye goin?' he shouted.

((XDD He's "go'in" on the tree! I guess I didn't make it that clear... well... I was going to make him casually disappear for a moment but we'll just pretend he's wondering off instead...)) Pyro turned around, his eyelids half closed, "What?" He still seemed a bit confused. Gaddan began eating organs and Cari couldn't stomach it anymore. She too, ran into the trees. Pyro stared at them awkwardly for a moment but said nothing. "What are you doing here? The fort is Northwest of our camp..." "Who are you?" Pyro asked Clay. "Pyro, do you remember yesterday? You look unsteady..." Cari raised an eyebrow. "Oh yes, 'Cari' I am alright now..." Pyro replied as he remembered, "Where are we going again?" Cari sighed, "Come now, Gaddan should stay away from rotting meat anyway," She began heading Northward, but stopped, "I think Gaddan can carry us three. If Fafnir can fly, we could make better time," ((Pyro: I'm unsteady because I need to pee really bad... Me: XP Maybe when you get to the fort, you can give those stalkers the slip...))

((lol... what stalkers?)) 'Reight!' said Clay, ignoring Pyro's question since he seemed to understand now. 'Fafnir, can yeh fly?' he asked the dragon. 'I think so...', he said as he flaped his wings. The wound had scabbed over and was a bit painfull to stretch, but he could do it. The dragon hoped into the air with some dificulty, flapping a few gusts with his wings before dropping back to the ground. 'Yes... I think I can. But I'm still getting the hang of it.' he said. 'Reight then! Let's go!' answered Clay gesturing Cari towards Gaddan. 'Ladies first eh?', he said ironicly. "Doont want to take any chances with that dragon" he though.

((the stalkers that followed him to the 'bathroom' XD)) Cari mounted Gaddan between his neck a shoulders. At the moment, the dragon was about the width of two large horses and about 13 ft long, -not including his tail. It looked almost ridiculous by the time Clay mounted, but Gaddan was capable of holding their weight. He lifted into the air, nudging Fafnir with his nose and grabbed his tail in his mouth to help him start.

And so they all flew on towards the northwest as the sun rose. They could see a mountain in the distance, and down below, there where horsemen riding quickly in the same direction they flew. They where far below but Clay could almost make out the blue uniforms. 'Are they ours?', he asked Cari, pointing down towards the riders.
Fafnir glided happily behind them trying to keep up. "I love flying" he thought.

"It will be more fun when you can do this..." Gaddan told Fafnir as he turned completely around so fast that the three on his back had no chance to fall. ((that must be fast. XD)) "Gaddan!" Cari shouted, trying to sound stern amid her laughter. "I cannot tell myself who they are, Clay," She replied when she sobered, "I highly doubt that many would be out looking for me. -K would probably only spare one besides himself, and he does not dress in blue." This concerned her. Obviously, there were still many of the enemy running about. How many were there? They were like little spiders when one looked down on them. Little spiders... yeah...

'hum... I hope they arent trouble...', answered Clay as Fafnir decided to try the older dragon's stunt. He flipped over and fell several feet before fliping back upwards ans flying back up to where the others where. 'I'll have to practise that...' he said.
They continued to fly on toward the mountain.
((and I've got to go now... night time again =P cya tomorrow.))

((bye.)) A large, stone, castle-like building came into view. It set on top of a wide-sloped hill that looked almost perfectly square. The walls were thick, and the open courtyard inside was as green as the land surrounding it. 'Twas a beautiful place if one ignored the torn-up battlefield a ways off in the valley south of it.. Thick trees grew tall, walling the fortress in on the north side. Gaddan nose-dived for the center of the square of stone, but slowed at a few hundred feet, gently descending into the courtyard. The people scattered, panicking, until they saw the dragon. "Gaddan!" A man growled, "Foolish cow!" "Aw, Precarious! Ruin our chances of leaving this place!" A young man whined, "Where have you been?" "We were ambushed," Cari stated as she lightly dismounted the tall, broad, back.

Fafnir nosedived to he center also, but as he tried to pull up, he simply skidedacross the courtyard grass. 'Ouch', he said, getting up.
Clay laughed. They really needed to do something about that. Maybe later Gaddan could help him out. He dismounted and paced towards Cari and the men. 'Soo. Where's the party than?', he said ironicly.

K pushed through to the front, clearly enraged, "Ambush or no, you should have come sooner!" He waved his fist at someone while turning away, "clean them up," He muttered before leaving in a storm. A shorter man, probably in his early fifties, approached Clay, touching the arrow, "Ambush, eh? I'll have this fixed in a bit," He smiled at the others, resting his eyes on Cari, "K is in one of his worsest moods today, for the battle was a retreat on both sides, strangely enough. We lost six dragons and many more men. -they have begun using cannons to shoot them where they fly. Our dragons will need to be taught how to avoid them as well as poisoned arrows," He gestured toward young Fafnir, assuming that was what had wounded him. "Now then, we will find something for you to eat after I am through," The man's fair hair had begun turning white already and he spoke quickly and clearly. He left them and returned with some bread, an empty water bucket, and some medical supplies. The man then became absorbed in his work and only glanced up once when asked for water by Pyro. He took the bucket and moved it in the direction of an old well sitting in the courtyard, "There ye go,"

'Wheel... I guess were late..', smirked Clay, as he removed his shirt for the examination of the arrow wound. Once the man removed the arrow and treated the wound, he bandaged it. Clay stood again and grabbed his shirt, puttin git on as he walked away. 'I'm going with Pyro' he saisd to the Cari and the dragons, as the man took a look at Fafnir's wing.
As Clay caught up to the boy, he was already pulling out the bucket of water. 'How are yeh feelin?' Clay asked. 'With the head I mean..'

"I am rather unbalanced but other than that, I am well," Pyro replied, bending over to heave up the bucket, "'tis not the first time by far that I have been hit over the head. -It must have been... one... two... twelve times within the last five years at least. Woah-!" He began falling in head first from the bucket's weight. He gripped the side of the well and pulled himself up, laughing, "Yes, very unbalanced. -I should not be drowning myself in everyone's drinking water, now should I?" The more that one was around the boy, the less ill in the head he seemed. Although like Cari, he seemed dangerous to stand very close to. "Water?" Pyro strained to lift the bucket with his good arm. He dropped it hard on the ground, and the water inside splashed up all over the feet of both men. Pyro grinned and glanced over to see Cari pointing toward him while talking with the physician. He skipped over to them to have his injury examined. Gaddan joined Clay at the well, lapping up large amounts of water from the bucket with his tongue. ((yuck. He just ate rotting meat. No wonder there were health issues in the Renaissance! XD)) ((if Fafnir breathes ice, he must need to drink a lot of water so he won't dehydrate every time he uses his power.))

((heheh yeah.. =P Fafnir drinks like a phish...))
Clay whatched Gaddan drink from the bucket. 'Yeah... I think I'll pass', he said. He looked around the coutyard. Men and women were running around doing various chores. Feeding dragons and horses, carrying weapons here and there. Some men where even training in mock combat. Clay offered to help with whatever he could.

Pyro had his head cleaned while Cari sat watching and sharpening an arrow. It was very busy, but very dull. Everyone wanted an excuse to be out in the sunlight at this hour and the spacious courtyard was soon cramped. Several higher-ranking officials of the army patroled the area, looking for anyone who had no need to be taking up space. The sun was bright that early morning with a nice fall breeze playing about. Cari was disappointed when she was spotted and sent back down in the tunnels. Pyro walked about the horses coralled in a corner of the yard. He loved horses. He did not notice Cari leave.

Clay continued helping feed the horses with the others. He didnt notice Her leave either.
Fafnir, however, did. And curious as he was, he folowed her. Trying to make as little noise as possible and go unnoticed. The tunnels below where quite wide. He could easily walk through them. Bright torches lined the walls as he walked, following Cari form a distance.

((ahhhh! Writer's block! )) Cari heard him behind her, but did not acknowledge him... at first. She turned a different way than first intended, coming to a dank room with slats in the ceiling to let in light from the room above it. "You, Clay, and Pyro will sleep here with some other men and their dragons. The room had looked large at first, but when one imagined several bodies stretched on the floor, one began having doubts...
