Gaddan noticed the wound and slowly moved toward the other dragon as he fought. When he was close enough, he sank his fangs into Fafnir's wing, causing blood to flow hard and in great streams. The puncture had been so precice, as Cari noticed. She glanced down at her side where she had once been poisoned herself and wondered... Gaddan became annoyed and began making a savage mess of their enemies. Cari would have reprimanded him, but instead, she looked away and let her gaze follow the others as they began fleeing. Some yet remained, -some idiots obviously. Blood was now leaking from Pyro's mouth. The girl turned his head to the side so he would not drown in it. For now, they all needed to fight the men off. -later they would tend to wounds.

Clay payed atention to on of the remaining men. He swung his sword at one, slashing him in the chest. Fafnir bled heavily, and tried to remain concious as he blew snow and Ice at his wound to stop the bleeding. Clay drew another dagger ant tossed it at one of the last two men, hitting him in the arm as they turned and ran for their lives! 'And doont come back!', shouted Clay, as he pulled out some cloth form a poket and cleaned the blood off his sword. Sheathing it he turned to face the others. Pyro lay on the ground unconcious. Fafnir was struggling to remain awake. Cari holding the stick and the large dragon stood unharmed. 'Weel than... That whent weel..', Clay said sarcasticly.

Cari nodded, absantly, her eyes wide as she leaned against her dragon. Gaddan reached down with his clawed hands and lifted Pyro off the ground. He began to walk forward, balancing on his back legs with much effort. "Can he walk?" Cari asked Clay of Fafnir's condision. Where are we going? she questioned Gaddan. We are going home, the beast replied. "We cannot go on at our present conditions!" The girl shouted aloud, interrupting Clay before he had the chance to answer her, "Fafnir is poisoned and may bleed to death while Ign-" She paused, "Pyro may have a broken head!" Wait... what had she almost called him?

Clay tried to answer but was interrupted.. he noticed her pause, but thought not much of it... 'Aye... I doont think he can go very far in his condition... Ai think we should stop and look at their wounds... It's very early for camp, but we cant go on anyweh.' He examined Fafnir's bleeding wing. 'I believe Gaddan's bite might have bled the poison out... but Fafnir is suffering form blood loss nehw... He aparently has tried to freeze the wound in the hopes of stoping tha bleeding, and it's worked... soo far. He needs rest..' Clay paced to where Pyro lay. He searched the young man's hair, and found a bleeding gash! 'Do yeh have anythin' to mend it with? A piece o'fabric or something? All I have is my rag.. but it's no good for tying bandages..', he said.

Gaddan stopped and set the young man down. Cari removed her knife and cut a sleeve from her tunic. She spent some time tending to Pyro before standing up and moving to Fafnir. She could not help feeling sympathy for the creature who had the mentallity of a human child. She removed her other sleeve, but did not touch the bloody skin. "Fafnir, while you breath more ice? Gaddan can melt it into water for me to clean your wing with." ((Is Fafnir's ice distilled water? XDD))

((I guess.. actualy I think he can breathe just water too.. but doesnt know it yet =P))
The dragon cocked his head understanding. He frosted the wound some more, whincing as he did.
Clay whatched silently. He didnt know much about dragon care...

Gaddan breathed gently from a distance, melting the water. Cari dabbed at it with Clay's rag before tying her sleeve tightly to it, "When we are back home, we will have better supplies for this," She rubbed the dragon's head fondly with her knuckles before turning to Gaddan. Cari's dragon was glaring at Clay for no apparent reason other than jealousy. "Oh, he dislikes K also," The girl explained sheepishly.

Clay raised an eyebrow at Cari. 'Is that why he's staring at me?', he asked as he broke the shaft of the arrow in his shoulder, 'Because I might be K's sort?'.

"Oh, no, he just does not like men for some stra- Oh, what happened to your shoulder?" Cari jogged over to where Clay stood and tore back the cloth covering his wound. Gaddan stretched his neck and limbs, plopping his body before Pyro's legs and staring hard at him while he slept. The dragon looked over his shoulder often to see Clay, and even when he was watching Pyro, his cow-like ears were turned backward, listening, and his muscles, tensed. Pyro had been stretched out completely, face down with his head turned barely to the side so as to let him breathe. He did not at look like a threat, but Gaddan nethertheless watched him, waiting for him to wake up. Impatiently, Gaddan nudged the young man with his clawed hand. "Gaddan, leave him be," Cari scolded. Gaddan obeyed and drew back. Cari examined the arrow, determining how she would remove it. "If this is too deep, we may need to push it out the other side," The girl informed Clay, "This angle is not promising though. -we may need to have one of the others fix this," She sighed, "While that is being done, perhaps the dragons can create a suitable place to camp. 'tis a risk sleeping here tonight, but I trust Gaddan as a guard." Gaddan breathed fire over an area of grass, burning it all to barren ground before stomping it out. He knocked off a limb from a nearby tree for a fire and settled down before Pyro again, eyeing him as a cat watches a mouse hole.

'It's nothin'.' said the red haired young man. 'Just a flesh wound... Best not touch it yet though. I left it in for a reason. Its not bleeding much as long as it's in. We can have someone at your place have a look at it. Anyweh, it's not really much in the weh.' He threw a glance at Gaddan, doing some sort of head bow. 'So... how's Pyro doin'.?

"At the best, he will be unconscious for another hour or so unless we do some heavy shaking, but it is best for him to sleep now and wake naturally later. -if that was all the damage done, that is. If he does not stir by tomorrow, we may need help for him," Cari looked uneasy. "I will admit now that I need him. -K found me months ago, wondering the forest down south of here with Gaddan. I remembered nothing of myself other than the fact that I should be dead, -I know not whether from guilt or fact how I came to that, but it must be important to be my only memory. Even now, I can hardly remember the weeks before today. If the mad boy truly knows me... he can remind me of who I am." She stepped over to Gaddan and touched a tiny bottle hanging from his neck of a clear liquid, "This is the poison that was in my body. Some one removed it, -possibly Gaddan, without getting a drop of blood in with it. Amasing, no? Gaddan will not admit to it, though." She began gathering soft plants to make mats for them to sleep on, mentally telling Gaddan to light a fire. "Where do you come from?" she asked Clay. ((you can make the history as interresting as you like. -My charries can't hog the spotlight.))

((heheheh =P))
Clay sighed. 'Weel, I actualy am from Ireland... But came here when I was a whee lad... My father was out to feight someone... I doon remember who. Anyweh... he never came back.' He paused for a moment. 'I doon't think he's dead.' he said again, 'Last I remember was fire and people panicking in the streets of a small village, some sort of battle I figure. I was young.. maybe 10 er soo...'. As they sad around the newly made fire, he pulled out his sword. 'Thats when I got this... Our foster parent... John... He defended us in the orphanege (sp?) as soldiers invaded... they where looking for something. "The bracelet! Where is it?!" they demanded... John said nothing, and merely fought them slashing here and there with his sword. The attackers stepped away, as a tall man walked in. He wore a long blue cape, his hair was white and tipped with red. Whether it was blood or just color I couldnt tell... All I know is I was freightened... I can still remember his orange eyes...' Clay paused again, passing a hand over the blade thoughtfully. 'The tall man pulled out a knife, pointing it at John. The knife stretched to sword length as if by magic and stabbed our defender straight through the chest. He fell to our feet, as the attackers began hitting and killing the other children. I was angry. I took John's sword. I slashed at the Caped man... He held a hand to his bleeding eye shrieking in pain as I ran passed him, out the door and into the road... I ran... and hid. Looking back at the town in flames and smoke, I took and oath to defeat and kill those who had destroied my home and friends. I would one day again find the man with the orange eyes...' He lifted up his sleeve. 'As fer the bracelet they where looking fer... I found it. and took it with meh. Doont know what it does, or what they wnated it for tho...' Clay looked around at Fafnir who was already sleeping. 'The rest of the story can be fer another night....' He pulled his sleeve down and sheathed his sword. He looked at Pyro. 'Ees gonna have a bad headache when ee wakes up', he said with a grin.

"Oh..." Cari could not find a better word in reply to his tale. So this man did have a goal in his life. She had been lucky to find such a determined man. -he would do well in battle. He had had something in his eyes as he spoke that revealed a stronger will than one she had first thought he possessed. The maiden laid the various leaves and mosses she had gathered on one side of the fire, near Pyro, while she set another mat of it on the other near Fafnir. Cari then lifted Pyro's head and pushed some grass under it, touching his neck for a moment to see if he were still living. He opened his eyes and turned his head. Gaddan stretched his neck forward so as to sniff the startled boy. Seeing the surprised look on his face, Cari shooed Gaddan out of sight. "Are you well, Pyro?" Cari asked quietly. "My name is not Pyro..." He muttered with a groan, "Are you not afraid of the three-headed dragon, Kendiana?" He asked seriously. "It might be best for you to go back to sleep..."

'Three headed dragon?', asked Clay somewhat surprised. 'That hit to the head must have been harder than we thought.', he said with a grin. Sitting with his legs crossed, he looked up at the sky. It was begining to darken and the stars became visible.

((it would be funnyif there really was a three-headed dragon. XD)) "Pyro..." Cari asked softly, "Is 'Kendiana' my real name?" "Who is Pyro? Why is it so dark?" Cari rolled her eyes and covered his before pushind his head down, "You should sleep." She sat down by Clay, not yet ready to sleep although she was tired. Gaddan protested this clearly by musceling a foreleg between them. He then replaced it with his head and lay on his belly with his head down. He was a big dog, -Cari's dog. ((XD)) "His name was never known to me," She was referring to Pyro, "He was a messenger for a king in his land, -that much I remember," She laughed, "Forgive Gaddan, -he is very protective of me and a bit of a child about it,"

Clay laughed also, even tough a bit uncomfortably, whith the dragon's red eyes staring straight at him. 'So... You already knew Pyro before I met him?', he asked

Gaddan smiled toothily and rather smugly, sensing the man's uneasiness. "I must have. He truly seems to know me and I recognize him although vaguely. So," she changed the subject, "do you think the man who destroyed your town is still alive?"

Clay's eyes changed again. 'Aye.' was the only answer. 'I feel he is still alive.', he said.
He fell silent. The fire cracked as a piece of the burning branch caved in, sending millions of small red sparks into the air. 'So...' he spoke again, 'Yeh have a dragon too eh? How long?'

Cari shook her head, "I cannot remember, -you know that. It seems as though he was always there, but I know it is not true. I have lived at least a score of years of a life I have hardly any memories of and I know he was not part of it." ((action anyone? XD I'm fine with talking and a good night's sleep but if you get bored... We could just make it the next day.))
