Iolana gently glided towards a cave in a mountain. She had no idea where the heck she was. All she hoped was that she was well alone. Her purple/silver body shone in the last rays of the setting sun. She looked out of 'her' cave to check her surroundings before going to sleep. She spotted a stream not to far from her cave. She knew that there would be some food by the stream eventually. After all, animals had to drink. It would also provide water. It could possibly lead to a lake with fish. All the possibilities ran through her head as she looked about. There was woods everywhere... making landing very picky and hard. There wasn't many places for shelter though, so she would most likely have to fight for her cave. 'Oh well,' she thought, 'at least I'll have it for a while.' She turned back into the cave. Ready to lay down and get a well deserved rest. She fell asleep with her head facing the entrance of the cave... for security...

Pupiless eyes, iridescent and inquisitive, studied the area. The owner of such eyes sat hidden within the plants that grew wild at the stream's banks. They were untamed and very much overgrown. The tangle made a nice, earthy shelter; sheltered by well-knit vines and branches, snug against one's body for security, and close by the stream. One hardly needed to move from the "cave" to take a drink. Hiding was the goal of this one's mind. Recently, the creature had caught scent of a female dragon, and she assumedly, rested somewhere in the cave cut from the tall cliff not twenty lengths away. It was a rather nerve-wrecking moment for the hidden one, for it knew that if it left its tiny sanctuary at the wrong time, it would be in plain view from the mouth of the cave. Pain gnawed at its belly; a risk needed to be taken. Something crawled out of a thick group of vine-covered trees. It almost seemed to have come out of nowhere, for the gap in which the creature had exited was very small and discrete. Natural gaps between trees were commonplace there, and untrained eyes would never had spotted the home of another, though much smaller, dragon. The dragon was very young and the size of a calf. He was pure white, small-bodied, and slender, giving him the appearance of a stag from a distance. His snout was short as was a horn on the top of his head. The young dragon moved slowly as he made an exit, but he quickly changed pace and darted to the stream, leaping over it with a flutter of short, feathered wings before turning around to take a sip. He glanced up at the cave, seemingly anxious about being watched. ((he has no name yet, and I'm guessing he's younger than Iolana, -like a little brother. And I realize he looks a lot like Gaddan. He's probably just the same "breed")

Iolana thought he heard a sound of wings... but it might just as well had been a bird for all she cared. She didn't think she had examined her surroundings that well though, for she hadn't spotted any birds. She just shook it off. She went into a state of being half awake and half asleep. If she heard anything else though she would go and investigate.

The young dragon turned around when he heard a twig snap. It might have been but a rabbit, but it also could have been something stalking him. At his size, a large cat or a pack of wolves could still prey on him. His nerves sent him into a panick. The little beast made a run for it, crashing his head into a sappling in his charge. Dazed, the dragon just sat still for a few moments, -at least until the forest stopped moving.

(( It was then that HE jumped out... none other than KORNITH!! Yes, his eyes were ablaze with malcontent and his brazen sword was glimmering in the sunlight. "What hoe? A dragon?" He cried, staring down at the little winged devil, "Thou are mine, fiend!" *swoosh* *swoosh*
xDD Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm in one of those phyco moods from to much power. @_@ DIE, FLY! DIE!! *draws giant swatter and pursues* ))

((And then the young dragon kicked Kornith's butt. The end.))

Iolana heard the twig snap. She sighed and stood up, being as quiet as she could she started towards the noise. She used her wings quietly to keep her feet from landing too hard, and so creating little noise. She spotted something, and taking no time to discern what it was, pounced on it. She made sure that she didn't harm the creature, but it wouldn't be able to get out from under, and so it wouldn't be able to escape. ((*sigh* I'm pretty sure there was a run on sentence in there...))

Making pitiful snarls and yelps, the little dragon struggled to be free of the creature on top of him. It smelled like the dragoness. He feared that she was one of those canibalistic dragons he had seen and heard of. Scratching and shouting, he felt that these would be his last moments of life. Oh, but they had just begun not so very long ago!

Iolana chuckled at the little dragon's attempts to try and escape. "Only a little thing," she said aloud, "now that I've sorted that out, I can go back to sleep." She looked at the little dragon that she had pinned down. She saw fear in every move that he made. 'Poor thing,' she thought. Her maternal instincts were thinking most of that though. She wondered how in the heck he had gotten there. She looked back at him. "What are you doing here? And alone?" She asked all of this kindly, hoping to calm the creature down before a heart attack would happen.

He thought she was toying with him as a cat plays with a mouse. He lay still for a moment, muscles tensed, and then made a kick at her belly.

Iolana felt him kick her stomach, he did give her a pretty good scratch for his size. She gave him a growl, but got off of him. She looked at him for a second, wondering if he would run, or if he would stay. It didn't matter to her. She was going back to the cave in a bit, and would be leaving in the morning. She had always made a habit of never staying in one spot for too long.

Staring and trembling, the young dragon wondered what to do. Thinking his petty attack had forced her back, he still believed she was an enemy. His eyes were large in anxiety, and though he thought he was brave, he did not look like it. ((remember not to be anti-social!))

((*smile* What ever do you mean?)) Iolana just rolled her eyes at the young beast. "If your trying to put a brave face on... your failing. Tell me young one... why are you out here alone?"

"I will not speak to one who is trying to eat me," He said, shakily.

Not even a minute after he said this that Iolana burst into laughter. "What on earth do you mean? Me eat a dragon... *laughs take over* ... I would never do that. Now if you were a cow, I just might. But nay, you are a dragon, and I don't make a habit of eating my own kind." She was starting to get control of her laughter. Her ears were listening just to make sure someone that was her enemy didnt' hear her outburst.

The boy's muscels relaxed, but only for a moment before he tensed again, "Do you give your word you are not a canible??"

Again Iolana rolled her eyes. "I don't see what good my word would be for you, seeing as I'm not your friend. But, I promise, I'm not a canible. If I was I think I would've eaten you by now." She stood up and started to walk back to the cave. She really needed rest for her journey, and she wasn't going to get it talking to some overcautious dragonling (?).

Dumb-struck, he admited that it made sense. He now didn't know what to make of her. If she was not his enemy, what was she to him? He had been so young when he had last met another dragon that the creature didn't remember what it had been like. He had, though, seen others from far, attacking in aerial war, until one fell from the sky dead. The other sometimes ate the remains. He was alone, and for a good reason, he was cautious as well. When the dragoness turned to leave, he felt upset. And so followed her.

Iolana sighed, she could hear the little dragon following her. She didn't really knew what to do. She just hoped that he wouldn't cause her much strife. She went back to the cave and went in side. She made sure that it was still empty and laid down to go to sleep. Her ears awaited the sound of the little dragon, that would be, no doubt, following her into the cave.

Flapping his wings, the younger dragon did follow her. Landing on the ledge, he hesitated at the entrance. Oh, this was much safer than down in the forest! -the large, fierce, dragoness probably helped with that. He wandered inside without a word to her and curled up by himself.
