Tennis racket slung over his shoulder, Teru walked through the courtyard with little to no interest in what was going on around him. His practice was boring as per usual, and yet he still had an hour before school even started. With a sigh, he slipped out of his tennis outfit and into his school uniform, tying the tie with practiced precision.
He smiled toward the other players as he walked from the changing room to the hallways of his high school. Little to no people were present as of yet, but the tennis team always seemed to get to school two hours before it was supposed to begin. As such was the fate of a member of the tennis team at Kitano High School in Osaka.

Tiv kept to himself most of the time. No, he was not a loner, he was just shy. Sure, he had friends, but he was a quiet person in the group. He was also the only one to be at the school an hour before it actually started. It was just a habit of his, get to school early, practice some Kendo, and sometimes finish some homework.
Tiv's hand gripped his Shinai tighter as he made his way towards the dojo. He was not really paying attention to the people of the hall as he walked on through. It was bound to happen sometime, and unfortunately, now was the time. Quickly going around the corner of the hallway, Tiv ran into someone else, landing himself onto the ground.
((Ugh, bad post. *sigh* Oh well. Hey, Kay, don't forget to make Teru a profile since this is an open roleplay. I'll make Tiv's like tomorrow-ish.))

Teru let out a yelp as a body slammed into his own, sending him stumbling back into a wall. His tennis racket feell to the ground, clattering loudly in the hallway. He looked down, spotting the head of the person that had run into him. He was on the ground now - poor kid. He was a little guy, or at least shorter than Teru was, and he had to be pretty light to have fallen over from such a small hit.
"You okay?" he asked, holding out a hand toward the new kid. Or, at least he assumed the boy was a new kid. He didn't look remotely Japanese and Teru had never seen him around before. (Or maybe he had... Teru tended to ignore people in the hallway that he didn't normally speak to.)
((I'll make it in a little while. XP))

Tiv winced slightly when he fell. So maybe his left wrist wasn't fully healed yet, but he would be fine. Reaching out with his right hand, Tiv grabbed Teru's outstretched hand and got up. "Yes. I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention where I was going."
Looking around, he spotted his Shinai. Slowly he bent down and picked it up. Silently scolding himself for dropping it. Now he would need to inspect it for breaks or splinters before using it. He smiled up at Teru, "Sorry again... I really need to start watching where I am going."

Teru smirked as he glanced down at the boy's shinai. Maybe he wasn't as new as Teru had originally thought - at least, if he were already enrolled in a club, he couldn't possibly be all that new. " It's fine, really. You merely surprised me is all," he responded, picking up his tennis racket that had fallen at his feet.
He eyed the boy for a moment, wondering why the boy would be at school so early. From what he understood, only a handful of clubs met in the morning, and Kendo wasn't one of them. Teru contemplated for a moment before perking up. "Are you practicing for something special at Bunkasai?" he asked.

Tiv shook his head, unsure what to say. He had never seen Teru before, and it was obvious that he was in tennis, one of the more prestigious groups at the school. And he was tall... probably an upper classman.
"Just planning on winning." He stopped for a moment, not believing that he actually said that to someone he did not know.

Teru blinked for a moment and then burst out laughing, rubbing the back of his head. "You think just because the Kendo Club has a few wooden sticks they can win at the culture fest?" he asked with a grin. "The Tennis Club has won the past three culture festivals," he informed the younger student.

Tiv smiled like he knew something that Teru didn't. "Yeah, but that was before the Kendo Club had me." Slowly his hand moved the Shinai up so that he could look at it, his left hand slowly feeling the it for any splinters or cracks.
Tiv nodded as he inspected the Shinai, it was safe. No cracks and no splinters. He shook his head and smiled up at Teru again. "Like I said though, they never have had me before."
