((This is something that Aly and I just wanted to do for old times' sake, but feel free to jump in! ;D The setting is the Li'l Coffee Shoppe in Naqui, a small town populated mainly by gifteds. Nearby is Naqui Christian Academy, where our characters went to high school.))
The bell on the door jingled merrily as Ylana Kekoa pushed it open and stepped into the little coffee establishment, wind and flurries rushing in behind her, and her brother Reori following close behind. "I can't believe they closed down the whole dang college just because of one little gas leak," she grumbled, removing her toboggan hat and combing her fingers through her long blonde hair to untangle it.
Reori unwrapped his long blue-and-gold scarf from around his face, then began glancing over the shop's menu boards as he replied, "Well, they just want to be more safe than sorry. Really, those things could cause huge explosions if they don't get it under control. I'm glad they evacuated everyone for a few days until they get it figured out." He stepped up to the counter, and after a few moments' deciding (with Ylana muttering in the background), he told the barista, "I'll have a tall mint cappuccino, with eh... gimme whipped cream on the top." He turned to Ylana. "Hey, what you gonna get?"
"I'll order after you order."
"No, I'll pay for both of ours."
"No, you won't. I'm perfectly capable of paying for my own, bro."
"Ghhh... fine."

She had been following them since Martin Street where she first caught sight of the twin's deep brown skin and golden hair. Who else but the Kekoa kids would have the audacity to be so strikingly beautiful? Slipping through the door behind them without catching their attention had been a challenge by itself, but the rush of adrenaline tickled her core as she tiptoed over to her two high school friends.
Feigning coolness, Sachi stood behind them and pipped up, "How about I pay for you both?" Unable to conceal her smile, she grinned from ear to ear and added, "But I suppose you wouldn't let me, right?"

(("strikingly beautiful"? ROFL. )) ((... I also just realized that I used to be a highly conceited roleplayer, and our characters hardly ever interacted, at least in the written universe. D: I think I'm just gonna fill in some blanks when it comes to their friendships, if that's okay. |D )) Ylana's ears pricked when she recognized the voice, and she turned slowly around to come face-to-face with one of her sweetest friends, her former roommate at the boarding school. "SACHIIIIIII!" she burst out squealing and jumped up and down, then rushed to embrace her friend. "Ohmygosh! Ohmygosh! This is like... perfect! I can't believe we'd be here at the same time!" Reori rubbed his ears. "Good grief, 'Lana, I think you killed every dog within a mile of here." He was half smiling as he said it, though, showing that he too was pleased to see gentle Sachi, the girl who had helped everyone get through the last, difficult years of high school with her warm personality and healing touch. She had truly been a godsend in those tough times. "Now stop hugging her like that, you'll squish her to death," he told his sister. "Oh, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't realize I was hugging that hard!" Ylana broke off her bearlike grip and looked embarrassed. Other patrons of the coffee shop were staring with amusement over their laptops and newspapers. "So what brings you here?" she asked cheerily. "We're just hanging around for a while 'cause our classes got canceled for a few days due to a rogue gas leak. We figure'd we'd come check out what's been happening here," she shrugged.

Sachi chuckled and wrapped her arms around Ylana's neck, hugging her tightly back. "I missed you, too!" She said, and then glared playfully at Reori and told him, "Oh, shush. You're just jealous." With that, Sachi wrapped Reori in a strong hug, too.
"Hmm, what am I doing here?" She parroted, swinging back around to face Ylana. A small shrug, and she answered, "I came back home for the first time in a couple of weeks and ran out for a few staples before this storm really hits. Did you hear?? This is supposed to be a big one! As in, nine foot drifts!"
Stretching her arm above her head, Sachi made great, sweeping motions in the air to imitate the drifts, "It'll be great! If you guys don't have any plans, maybe I'll stalk you again and rain snowballs down on you."

"Nggh!" Reori was surprised by Sachi's hug, as he had been trying to maintain a cool, aloof attitude. He stiffened up for a second, but then he smiled and gave her a quick squeeze back. "Uh, yeah... right." He coughed and turned back to the counter as Ylana talked with Sachi, pulling a few bills out of his wallet as he told the now impatient barista, "I'll get a short french vanilla cappuccino for my sister here, too." He slid the bills forward, looking over his shoulder and hoping that Ylana wouldn't notice he was paying for both drinks.
Ylana's hands went to her face as she listened to Sachi talk about the snow. "Ohmygosh. Are you serious?! Like, we could seriously get stuck here? Ohmygooooooosh, this will either be totally awesome or totally scary!" She considered the option of staying in Naqui for a longer period of time than originally planned. "Well, we came to visit Raina too, since she's a sophomore and she's still here and all. Man, we could honestly get stuck here?!" Needless to say, Ylana was getting hyper about things as usual.
Reori rolled his eyes as he listened to her babble. "Ah, come on, don't stress it. If we get buried, we get buried. It's not any disaster if we have to stay a few extra nights," he said, casually leaning back on the edge of the pick-up counter.

"Is Naqui having classes? I thought they would have canceled due to the snow."
Sachi eyed the obviously agitated barista as he edged a plate full of someone else's order closer and closer to Reori's back. He was muttering something under his breath and furrowing his eyebrows in poetic teen angst, and all the while Reori seemed blissfully unaware. Grinning, Sachi looked back to Ylana as she tickled Reori's back with her power, "Are you and Reori going to the same college? I think you told me before, but I can't remember."

((I dunno! After the first couple years, it just kinda dissolved. :c I wish we could go back and revive it, but a lot of the original members might be too busy. *coughKristenandChristacough*))
"Yeah, they're still going, since most of the students are boarders. I hope somebody gets the memo about the storm!" Ylana answered her.
Reori felt the tickle on his back and jumped forward in surprise. Turning around, he saw the annoyed barista. "Oh, sorry, man. I had no idea..." he trailed off when he was glared down, and he turned back to the conversation with a wince. "Heh. Anyway, yeah, we're going to the same place... I'm a communications major, and Ylana's an outdoor education major... OE," he teased while prodding her with his elbow, running the pronunciation of the letters together so it sounded something like "ohwee". She elbowed him back in the soft spot of his side so that he "oofed" and chuckled.
"Yeah, well, what are ya gonna do with your major, go to Hollywood?" she pestered.
"That's the plan!" he joked, giving his cheesiest smile.

"You're joking, right?" A voice snickered in from somewhere behind the group, "You should carry more cash on you too, Sparky. With these prices, you can barely afford your own drink," A strawberry blonde head popped up from one of the tables. Turning toward them, the boy had a straw clenched between his teeth as well as a pair of glass sitting on his head. Pushing them down over his eyes, he jested, "Oh, my mistake. I have no idea who you people are. -Carry on,"
((Oh wow! Let's bring it back! -even if it's just the four of us. XD It was too much fun!))
