To Whom It May Concern:
It has come to my attention that there is a surplus of non-human entities in this area, some of which are gifted in the areas of magic. Now, that is all well and good, in stories to frighten children. Otherwise, this could possibly be a very real threat. How are we to sleep at night, knowing these creatures prowl our streets, waiting to do us in?
Obviously, this situation must be eradicated at once, if we are to ensure the safety of our future and present children.

With every intention of doing away with all things non-human,

"This petition was found tacked to the outer door of the castle, sire."
The king, a younger fellow grayed with premature age, nodded, took the parchement from the soldier's outstretched hand, and sighed. "He really means it, doesn't he?"
"It would seem so, your Majesty."
"Well, in a way, he's right, you know." The king looked away from the scroll, his leaden eyes burdened with the worries of three generations, and sighed once more. "In a way, he's right."
"Yes, sire."
"They are a threat, in their own right."
"Yes, sire."
The king cast his eyes to the ground, to which he had been so accustomed to staring at over the past few years, and clenched the theses. "I just don't know what I'm supposed to do about it."
"No one has signed the petition as of yet, your Honour," added the soldier, "Suppose no one does sign it, and you'll not have this extra load."
"No one's signed it because you took it down before anyone could." The king dropped the paper completely, put his head in his hands, and sighed for the third or fourth time.
"True enough, sire."
"Put it back up and see who takes an interest. If enough people do, then....I'll cross that bridge when I come to it."
"Yes, sire."
The soldier stooped, exhibiting a strange grace no one in a full suit of armor should possess, picked up the parchement, and saluted, before giving a concerned glance at his king with entrancing, sea-blue eyes.
None knew that under the helmet lay two perfectly pointed ears of unblemished ivory skin.

A war against all things non-human.
A ban against the usage of magic.
Can Vinland really accomplish such a controversial goal? And what will become of the innocents, deemed non-human simply by birth? What of the half-breeds?
What of the ones who will choose to protect them? The ones who choose to murder them?
And what of the man, Jaxrehfarle, who petitioned this in the first place?
To Whom It May Concern....does it concern you?
