The moon shone dimly through the clouds that night. A chilling rain had just fallen that morning, and left the ominous air of winter. Oh yes, Autumn was here, but sometimes, the season was winter disguising itself so as to torment the citizens early. Those walking along the road sought shelter from the bitterness. Intricately designed buildings were set close together, forming a barrier against the wind. Yes, they were beautiful in the day, but on nights such as this, they were grotesque places. Some frowned toward a tavern where people could be heard laughing aloud. The sound was inappropriate for such a grim time, -it broke the stillness and only added to the tension. What no one knew was that tonight, there was a reason to be anxious. The pounding of hooves, the clanking of metal and mail, the breathing of their enemies neared. This town, Bladelot, belonged to Lord Bladelot (that being, the Lord of Bladelot) and from several ill choices in his trades and bets, had made several enemies and they were determined to avenge his wrongs against them, at the price of those living on his land... ((this good? I was vague. You can add twists if you like or we can change it. We can change the sucky name too. It was the first thing that popped into my head. Blade=glory lot=land.))

"One more!"A parade of hiccups followed. "Not for you, no! You still owe me from last week."The bar tender pointed her pudgy finger, wagging it so vigorously, it caused her wrist to pop. "You come here every night, getting drunk and merry, while i still have not got my gold!" "Fine!"One hicup "I'll jus-" Two hicups "Jus-" Three "Leave" Four hicups. "I want my gold by morn!" The door to the tavern opened, spilling light in to the dark street, whispers were everywhere, superstitions and fear. The lone figure walked through allyways in between hovels. Dolls, clothing, candles, anything that showed a speck of personality appeared in the ally. The man groaned and collapsed near a rotting tree near the main road.

((Give me a good reason why someone would PAY to have him murdered. Lol, it sounds like anyone could walk right up and do it themself. XD)) A young woman wondered through the streets, her eyes on the moon and not much else. Moonlight had always entranced her... but she would not let it hold her attention. Tonight would be a perfect time to lure her assignment as well as have him killed. This would be quick. No one knew much of this girl at all. She was quiet and gentle with a look of innocence about her. Undoubtedly, there was still some innocence in her, but it was not a very prevailing trait. The only thing the girl had was her appearance; pale skin, eyes like ice, dark braids that reached her knees. -If not beautiful, she was very intriguing a person. Hired long ago as an assassin's aid, she would sweetly befriend her targets, only to push them in the way of danger when her partner came... ((do you mind if she's part elf or are we just going to do historic Medieval without fantasy? I don't care which))

((Fantasy =k darkness and fantasy goes well together. )) Thoughts raced, feelings clashed. Emotion raging and loving both flowed through the mind. And the...a burp ((XDD)) "cuse' me"The drunk man said as an old lady passed by, holding her scarf tightly as if it was the only thing keeping her alive. His jet black hair hair covered his eyes with deep bangs. His lightly tanned skin seemed as smooth as clay with the moons white aura. ((Also, his eyes are very important in a way. So lets just say the "Customer" wants his eyes as proof of murder =p))

((She's an assassin, -not a bounty hunter. Oh well, she takes assignments whether good or bad)) The girl glanced toward the figure on the ground not far away. She had not seen him. "What is it that you want?" She had a very strange voice, -one that was spoken as though she thought speech was an art. It had an almost inhuman quality to it; one like the mist in a water fall.

An array of hiccups escaped, a melody. "Young maiden! If you pleaaasee-" His voice began to slur once more. "Will you escort me to me house" He gave grin. Not a laughing grin, or a even a happy grin. A drunk grin, a contagious grin that could even make the king laugh in court.

Yet the girl remained straight-faced. "Where do you live?" She was accustomed to helping people whenever asked. She never wondered why, -she just did it. He airs were so mysterious and unearthly at this time (perhaps made more so by the state of drunkeness) as though she was the esscence of the ominous night...

"Near the statue" He scratched his head. "Me thinks..Yes! The bright blue house...I think" And then he dozed off.

The maiden did not know what to do. She would not drag the man anywhere. Instead, she moved down the road, toward the fountain. Sighting the house described, she knocked on the door to see if anyone was home. ((that IS his house and not a drunken ramble, right? If so, she's knocking on someone else's door. XD))

Scratching was heard through the other side of the door. Then barking. But no one came to answer the door.

"He lives alone," She told herself aloud. Looking around as though wondering what to do next, she spied a barrel half-filled with water sitting in an alley. Soon, the young woman was leaning over the drunk, panting, with the heavy barrel beside her. After resting a few moments, she decided, rather than move closer and attempt to touch him, she would go right into pouring the water. And that was what she did. Once the barrel was emptied, the maiden darted behind the tree.

He yelped in surprised and got up quickly. "Bloody murder!"He cursed. He regained consciesness although he staggered as he walked. Looking around and seeing no one, he pulled his bangs back to dry his hair. Hidden between the furrow of messy hair were two gleaming jewels. The pupil of his eye was beautiful violet, while the iris of his eye was a defined silver, like pure crystal placed on a window as the golden rays of sunlight passed through.

A pale maiden appeared before him. The moonlight was stronger now, and in its beam, she looked more like a beautiful creature having come from it, rather than the cold "darkness" she had been before. Her eyes reflected that of a clear pool, and her fair skin matched that of moonlight. It was in the full light of the moon that she gave this impression. -one close to who she had been before. She had some ancient, mythical beauty in such light. "Hello, I am Lunetta,"

He quickly put his bangs in place. "Hello, I am-"He stopped to think. His intoxication has not fully gone out. "Oh yes, I am known by two names, you may call me Wryler"

"What were you doing on the ground?" She asked naively as she came closer. Lunetta had known why, but she asked anyway.

"Oh," Lunetta said just as innocently as before, "you should be home then, rather than outside in the open where drunks sleep," ((XD))

"I have just arrived from another town and I was seperated from my belongings," Lunetta had that same composure and clear speech. I am lost, so I am wandering about until morning, -I dare not sleep on the street,"

"Well, there is an inn not too far, on the edge of town. But i also have an extra room." He thought for a moment. "Where are you from?"
