There had been much unrest between the lords of the land, resulting in the feud that had been going on for about two years now. This lord would gain these fiefs, that lord would take them back - not much had changed in the two years except the population of the peasants.
But things were going to be different, now. A promise had been made, a promise made for the third son and second daughter of the two lords: A marriage. The two lords thought that if an arranged marriage could be made to connect their families, then the fighting would stop.
The lands were in an uproar to prepair. There were foods to bake, grounds to be made, and most importantly, balls to attend! Oh, the swirls of the rainbow in the maid's gowns, the excitement of the dance! A person would be considered crazed if they did not attend the masquerades held in the lord and lady's honor.
And so, our story begins...

(( Be my guest, but Jirÿnd is defiantly no son of a lord. *cracks up laughing* Oh, no! No where close to it! I'd feel sorry for the second daughter if Jirÿnd were her groom-to-be! ;D I'm afraid only Shammy/Aidrien would understand that right now. ( Who might be joining us )))

((I know why it would be really bad. o.O Jirynd should not marry in this roleplay... I can't join. I'll just lurk every time I can get on until I get internet back and can join later. Pyro is actually my Medieval/Renaissance roleplay character. I'll use him))

((Oh, Allie, I have a great plot... well sorta. Ellie, who hates balls and stuff, slips out during a masquerade party. She runs to the stable and changes into some breeches and a tunic. She is by a stall when Jirÿnd sees her. She is ready for travel, with her horse saddled up and saddle bags on top. She is starting to cut her hair when he sees her. Then she convinces him to go with her, on an adventure of a life time. Evading people searching for her, and just plain traveling for the heck with it... I think that's it. Do you like it? It can be changed... I dreamed the entire escape last night... lol))

Ellie sighed as she stood up waiting for the maid to bring her dress for the up coming masquerade party. She hated having to dress up in frillaries and go to a time wasting party. She could be doing something worthwhile in the time span that it took to get ready and go to the party. Tonight she was supposed to meet her fiance again... it's not like she didn't like him... she just didn't want to marry him. He was stuck up, and very rude to other people. She stared longingly towards the stables and her horse, Fiona. She loved her buckskin dun mare way better than friliaries and parties. The maid walked towards her, holding all of the stays, chemsies and everything else imaginable. She followed Ellie's gaze and clicked her tounge. Everyone in her father's home dissaproved of her learning how to ride a horse... both side-saddled, and astride! Ellie cooperated in getting dressed. Once having all of if on she could barely breathed. She would never know how her mother could dress like this all of the time. She sat still while the maid started to brush her hair. Ellie sighed... it was going to be a long night.

Was he daft? More likely than not, though few had verbally questioned his sanity as of late; it was understood. Dark green eyes drifted hazily across the room, the slightest hint of a grin playing upon his strangely soft features. Oblivious, obviously, to anything save the fascinating thing that was seen by no other. What strange thing could that man be staring at with that ridiculous grin on his face?
The man leaned casually with one easy arm resting on the delicately carved woodwork above him. The other gently brushed a few locks of his deep, golden-brown hair from his face. Certainly, he stood out among these richly ordinate gowns of nobles and princes as a pauper with his simple garb: A leather vest to go over his white long sleeve shirt, laced with crossed ties at the V in the neck of the shirt. Long slacks to match the textile of his vest clothed his lower half and boots to cover his feet. A simple man, yes. Daft? Perhaps. But Jirÿnd held secrets few men had ever witnessed.

((Not like that! Jeez...)) Finnaly the maid was done. Ellie stood up and got ready to go. She had a plan of escape from having to fully attend another horrid 'ball'. The maid looked at her for a second and decided that she was ready. Ellie started to leave when the maid handed her her mask. Ellie put it on and went down into the ballroom. This was the first party to be held at her father's home. Ellie went inside, and immeadiatly men were on her. She smiled and started to dance. She had to wait a little bit before she could slip out. Make her appearance, and then slip out quickly.

((joining)) A young man entered the room alone and without a lady. He wore a dark cloak that covered his entire body and a copper mask that covered everything between high on his forehead, under his bangs and the end of his nose. The copper shone in the light from the large chandeliers above him in the extravagant ballroom. The color of the copper matched the sparks of gold in his dull, brown, eyes, making the mask look very natural on him. He walked in casually with a bounce in his step. The only thing that stopped him from his decent down the steps was when his eye caught an unattended maiden. He followed her and tapped her shoulder lightly, "Would you like to dance with me, dear lady?" He asked. She nodded and stepped toward him. "I lack the use of one arm, would you mind if I did not hold your waist?" She liked the idea very much and they began to dance. Pyro was a nobleman's son, born and raised. He had only recently been rejected by his family for reasons known to his family, and his family only. Strangely enough, he was glad to be a worthless peasant now. Of course, his quick wit and charm always got him into parties just when he felt like making a bit of mischeif... This dull gatherings were all the same. As a shameless, impish, person, it was his duty to bring some excitement with him... Oh yes, this would be the grandest of them all! -but first, he must dance with a few pretty maidens. He spied Ellie. She was very pretty even though he could not see much of her face. Perhaps he would meet her in a dance tonight...

Ellie's dance parnter was done with the song and so she smiled and quietly went to 'mingle' with other people. She was delighted by the idea that no one recognized her at all. Plus the masks would have to stay on until midnight when the masks were supposed to come off, for a romantic 'unveiling'. She planned to be far away from the mansion by then. She really dreaded marrying to the other Lord's son. If she absolutly had to, she was at least going to go around and visit peasants... and see what the world was like from their point of view. She wondered when was the earliest that she could slip out. It was going to take a couple of minutes to get ready to leave... although she already had the food and other supplies that she would need.

Pyro noticed her walking away. He went toward her at a normal pace. He passed Jirynd on the way.

(( Ohh, goodness. Please pardon Jir; he's a little strange. ))
The young mister Jirÿnd perked up as he saw an interesting man pass by. Was this the same that had danced with only one arm? Truly, his garb reveled him to be the same. Why be so proper and formal while hidden behind a mask? The lad could be transformed into any person he might so desire, even unto the king himself! Though the unsightly prospect that tickled his mind at this very moment would utterly humiliate the dear, dear king. Unable to resist the urge, Jirÿnd creped up behind him. Following in the man's foot steps, Jirÿnd parroted, and exaggerated to it's fullest extent, every movement he might make. A few looked, some giggled, and others laughed. Indeed, he had succeeded.

Pyro was aware that Jirynd had come up behind him although he did not acknowledge it. How dare he ruin his fun by making his own disturbance? Oh well, perhaps an accomplice was what he needed anyway. Pyro began walking like a chicken, and then hopped up and down, hoping his pursuer would do the same. ((I just hope Ellie thinks they are funny and not creepy weirdos! That would be a bad start! Maybe they can all get together to do some mischief...))

((*nods* Yeah it would be... lol)) Ellie laughed a little and then noticed that it was her moment to escape. All eyes were on the two men and none on her or the door to the garden and outside. Quietly she slipped out of the ball room. She took off her shoes and hid them behind a bush. Then she ran towards the stable. She knew that she wouldn't have much time, but she hoped she had enough. She climbed into the hayloft when she started to get out of her dress and into some clothes that she bought from the stable boy. Her hands had to slow to remove the corset and camisole. She grew angry, for if she was a boy her escape would be made a whole lot easier.

One of the stabled horses, -a blood bay colt, became frightened at her approach. He reared and kicked in his stall. Pyro turned around to see Jirynd, "Hello, would you like to help me shame the hosts of this party?" He grinned impishly.

(( Drat! I thought I had replied to this twice more! Izvenichie, pahzhalsta. ^^ ))
Jirÿnd's spirit lit up, having found a partner in mischief, bringing 'life' to a stiff people. He followed in this man's every movement, careful to mimic his every antic with expertly heathen multiplication. Though his arm lay limply by his side... what could have caused this handicap?
Th very man he had chosen as his victim had joined Jirÿnd in his shenanigans, and they now greeted one another in brotherly understanding of divine comedy: "Why, sir," Jirÿnd replied, the man's own impish nature being reflected in his own face, "The angels gather to cast their laughter about us; let us not disappoint them!"
Taking up Pyro's hand in his own, Jirÿnd strutted down the ball room to the melody swelling within the song of good humor, joined with the giggled and scornful looks from all sides. These two heathen sprites would dance!
