Alexandria let out a flirtatious giggle, "Mon nom est d'Alexandrie." She could not believe that she remembered that phrase. Years of her governess beating knowledge into her head had left her with some knowledge of French.
"Might I ask what your name is?"

He smiled.
"So formal, mademoiselle. Please. We must become acquainted, oui? Répetez-moi, s'il vous plaît, je m'appelle Alexandrie."
He turned her again, thank heavens this was an unusually lengthy waltz, as he glimpsed that impertinent half-masked Creature. He was still there. Still staring. Still being quite cheeky. The Frenchman looked over at him, nodded, and then turned back to his enchanting company.
"Can you say that for me, mademoiselle? Come, come, say je m'appelle Alexandrie. And while you are saying that, I will say this: je m'appelle Baron Jean-Baptiste Pierre de Deronda, mais you may call me Daniel."

"Je m'appelle Alexandrie." She spoke just above a whisper. Loud enough to be heard over the band, but quiet enough so that he would have to get closer. She let loose a care free smile.
"It is good to know the name of whom I dance with, but could you keep up with a mademoiselle that only reveals a part of who she is." She changed the smile to one of mischievousness ((Incorrect?)) as she was twirled around.
((Gah lol I had to look up the Repetez-moi part... lol Note to self: Learn some more french other than bonjour.))

((Je suis désolée, Elli, mais j'adore à parler français...alors si tu veux que je parle anglais, dit-moi, et je le fais. Ce bon?))
He smiled. She certainly was enticing. His grip on her hand tightened, ever so slightly, as he leaned in and whispered:
"What makes you think I'm telling the truth, mademoiselle?"
The waltz would end soon, he could feel it. He nearly wanted to dare the half-masked Creature to just try and steal her again.
((The above means: I'm really sorry, but I love to speak French! If you want me to speak in English, just tell me, and I'll do it.
...Or I could start teaching you French...))

(Yep, D speaks zee French. And Spanish.)
The music was almost done! He was so excited, he downed his liquor in one gulp. It was champagne, too sweet to do much damage, but it tingled a bit as it went down. His heels bounced, rather like a small child waiting for Christmas, as the violinists eased the bow across the last chord, the awkward shuffling as the musicians rearranged their music filling the sudden silence. He was walking towards them faster than a racehorse bursts out of the gate. "Excuse me," he said, "But, in all fair play, I believe I either get another dance, or the lovely lady gets to pick." He smiled his most dashing smile at the girl, even if half of it was concealed behind his unusual mask.

((Sorry it's taken me so long to replyl guys. I forgot that I had this to reply to XD. All the others hid it.)) Alexandria smiled as the song was nearing the end. "Oh, well that would be keeping the spirit of the masks up, wouldn't it?"
The song was now over, and the maske dman she had previously danced with reappeared. She must have caught his attention. "Seems that I shall have another dance. I cannot deny a man a fun loving dance."

"Quelquefois," said the Baron, "A man is at his most intriguing when he wears a mask."
He looked pointedly at the Creature.
"Et autre fois," he continued, "It is out of mercy."
He bowed to the reunited dancers, backing away with enough grace and elegance to smother the dirtiest of curs.

(HA! That made me laugh. Am I a completely hopeless British geek for getting that reference?) "Well," began the young man, "That got rid of him, didn't it?" The next dance, either magically or mercifully, was another waltz! He refrained from yelping; he now had, at least, six minutes with which to fully charm this maiden. "So," he said, extending both his hands, unfashionably bare, to the girl, "Let's have some fun, shall we?" He knew he was being forward, cheeky even. But the night was young, this girl was beautiful, and he'd been drinking. Three excellent components for a truly fantastic evening, even if he offended someone.
