Okay, this is really like a game and a roleplay, all in one! The setting is at a big mansion where the owner (me) is hosting a galla of a ball. There is, among them a killer, no one but the killer and myself know who the killer is because I will PM the person to be the killer when everyone signs up.
Everyone will have one character, and each of your characters are to mingle with the other characters. After around 7 or 9 posts, the killer will choose his first victim, and PM to tell he or she that he killed that person. Then it's up to that person to say how they died, and to give one hint on who the killer is.
Like say a lady was fixing her make-up in the bathroom and she was stabbed. Then there must be at least one clue like 'she heard a man's laughter as she slowly died'. Stuff like that.
So really that's it. This roleplay will start after at least four people have joined... although I would like more to join. So with that, I guess I'm done... but remember... anyone can be the murderer.

((It was the butler!!! XP))
This sounds like a lot of fun! Shall we make our characters before you inform the villain, or after?

Before... I'll wait till everyone has posted his or her intros. Then I'll carefully look over the intros and pick who I want to be the murder. I could very well choose myself, but no one else will know who it was, so when you think you know who it was that did the murder, you will PM me with a guess. If you're right then I will tell you so, and you can make an acusation. If you're wrong, then you will just keep playing.
The goal of the game is to be the first to guess who the murderer was, or if you're the murderer, don't get caught. Also if you're the murderer then the goal is to kill everyone and not get caught.

((Ah! Very well, then!))
Sophronia Gwendolyn Elizabeth Crisparkle scrutinized her surroundings with a calculating, caramel-coloured eye. "Victor, my dear," whispered the Miss Crisparkle, "I believe we should mingle over in that corner, there."
"Why, my dear?" asked her rather confused Husband-To-Be, one Victor Bertram Wilburforce. "Surely the company is just as agreeable here as it is there..."
Sophronia looked absolutely appalled. "Why, Victor! I never thought you'd say such a thing!"
Victor, who was not quite sure why he'd proposed to Miss Crisparkle to begin with, looked at her rather stupidly and asked a perfectly justifiable question. "What, my dear?"
"That this...this..." Sophronia flapped her hands in an effort to express herself more dramatically, "This this, it's simply not that!"
Victor was quite sure he would go positively distracted. "What are you trying to say, my dear?"
Sophronia laid her head in her hands. "Victor, there is simply no hope for you."
"Whatever you say, my darling."
"If you had any head for Society at all," leered Sophronia Gwendolyn, "You would have realized that that side, there," here she indicated the aforementioned corner with one lovely finger, "Consists of higher patrons of Society than this side, here..."
Victor found all this Society nonsense quite puzzling. "What difference does that make?"
"Why, Victor!!" moaned Sophronia, "Why, it makes a whole world of difference!! It...it...it simply does!!" Sophronia disentangled her arm from his, pulling herself about to look at him face-to-face. "Suppose we were to meet a fantastically rich person, and they were to say to themselves, 'My, what a handsome couple!' (for indeed, they were), and then they were to think to themselves, 'I should very much like to go and meet them!' and then we'd become intimate friends, and perhaps be able to procure something of..." here Sophronia lowered her voice, glanced about the room, and leaned forward to whisper, in a conspiratory manner, "Monetary value..."
Victor was caught between agreeing whole-heartedly and being absolutely appalled. "You really think this...charletan scheme will work?"
Sophronia, having taken no notice of his usage of 'charletan', nodded. "I am almost convinced of it, Victor, dear!"
"Oh," commented Victor, "Well then."
With that, he offered his arm, which Sophronia graciously accepted, before the two meandered towards the 'richer' side of the ballroom, he strikingly handsome in a well-cut tuxedo, and she resplendent in a gold silk evening gown.

Katie Marie Benson walked around with a glass of wine in her hand. The place was humungous and filled with a ton of people. As she mingled with others she noticed one of her friends, Sophronia talking to her fiance', Victor.
When they came over towards her, Katie grabbed Sophronia's arm and pulled her to a hug.
"Sophronia, it is so good to see you," she exclaimed. "And you too, Victor. How have things been?

Soresta calmly walked around the ballroom, mingling and talking with multiple groups of people, laughing at all of the appropriate places, and a full wine glass ever present in his hands. Only every now and then would he take an actual sip of his wine, making sure that he stayed sober throughout the night. He could feel the ever present eyes of women on him and he made a show of smiling, his white teeth even brighter looking because of his complexion.
He walked to a new group of people that had just arrived, teeth flashing as he said his greeting for the hundreth time that evening. Someone wanted his picture, so he stood besides them, the ever-present smile grinning towards the camera.
His hair was gelled up into a fashionable peak, his brown hair, glistening in the light. Stifling a yawn he went to yet another group to mingle... why did he always have to hold these boring gallas to show that he was still in the boring, older social world.

"Oh! Yes, errrmmm..."
A slight flush of embarrassment met Sophronia Gwendolyn's cheeks; who was this person, again?
"Ah, Katie!" answered Victor, thankfully relieving Sophronia of any obligation to answer, "Things are going well, I should say, I suppose, right, Sophronia, my dear?"
"Oh!" Sophronia recovered faster than even she had anticipated, nodding her head and expanding on Victor's statement. "All plans are laid for a spring wedding; I'm so looking forward to it!"
"Really?" whispered Victor, a bit surprised despite himself.
"And most definitely you shall be invited, Katie, my dear," continued Sophronia, "For who could say otherwise, you and I being such intimate friends?"
If there was a redeemable quality about Sophronia, it was that she could lie at the drop of a hat (though perhaps that is not so redeemable as one may suppose).

Katie smiled as Sophronia talked about the spring wedding. "I bet you are looking forward to it. I know I would if I was getting married."
Someone laughed from across the room and Katie turned to look at none other than the owner of the estate and the host of the party, Soresta. She caught eye-contact with him but quickly looked away back at Sophronia.
"Yes, I will see if I can make it to the wonderful wedding."

"Oh, how joyously lovely!" gushed Sophronia, "Yes, yes, do see if you can attend!"
"Dash it all," intejected Victor, "Of course you should come!"
The pair of them flashed their most charming smiles (which quite exceeded charming), before Sophronia gently embraced Katie, gently so as not to muss her dress, and said, "We really must be moving on, dear. We have some.....business with an individual, and we'd like to go and see if he's here...please forgive this most rude dismissal, Katie, my dear!"
Victor looked at Sophronia and tapped a finger against the bridge of his nose. "Business. Right-O."

Soresta calmly made his way towards Sophronia while the three were talking. Placing an arm gently, but flirtatiously, on Katie's shoulder he flashed an award winning smile. "Hello, are you enjoying yourselves? I mustn't allow you to be bored at my party."
He looked between Victor and Sophronia for a moment, his mind scanning through the guest list, for he had photographic memory. Ah, there they are, engaged... well then he would talk about that a little.
"I do say, Victor, you're engaged now right? Lucky fellow to catch the Miss Sophronia Crisparkle." He made let out a polite laugh, trying to ease the obviously tense man to become more relaxed and at ease. He knew just from watching her that Sophronia was a handful to keep up with.

Katie smiled at Sophronia. "Oh, well don't worry about offending me. I under--" She was interrupted by an arm wrapping around her shoulders. "Soresta! Don't do that. You frightened me!"
He smiled at her and then started talking to Victor. She didn't remove his arm from around her.

"Uhhmmmmm..."
Victor was behaving as his usually articulate self.
Sophronia Gwendolyn, on the other hand, was postively beaming. "Thank you, sir."
'Sir' was the only thing that came to mind; the young man's surname was completely obsolete compared to his unusual first name, Soresta, and his almost enchanting smile. 'Sir' was probably the best path to take.
This had given Victor sufficient enough time to recover; he expanded on Sophronia's exclamation of gratitude with, "Yes, we're looking forward to it, aren't we, Sophronia, darling?"
Sophronia knew when to put on a show, as any self-respecting charletan would. She knew when to lay on the honey. At this present moment, the honey was oozing from every pore.
"Yes, of course we are, Victor my love," was the pratically whispered reply, whispered just loud enough to be overheard, before her lips were on his in a most passionate, but not overly so, kiss.
Victor forbade himself to look alarmed, but closed his eyes and put his arms about her, completing the facade.
Sophronia held the kiss long enough to be believable; in a sense, it was. Victor was perhaps the only male she could have beared to marry; this was because he was rather gullible, remotely rich, and not at all opposed to the idea of becoming richer. She broke off the embrace, gave a small, secretive smile, and turned back to their audience. "I'm positively thrilled."
Caramel-coloured eyes captured the image of the Young Master Soresta resting his arm tenderly about Katie Benson's shoulders. There's a fortunate connection... mused the Miss Crisparkle. She decided right then and there to invite Katie to tea far more frequently than the approximately never times she'd done so before. Perhaps the relationship would expand into courtship, then engagement, then marriage, and then, if all went according to the rapidly-forming plan wheedling itself in Sophronia Gwendolyn Elizabeth's head. Suppose she and Katie were to become such bosom friends as to include her in the wedding ceremony? Or, hopefully, in their future, to better themselves by the falsely formed friendship? It made her head practically reel with possibilities.
"Really, Katie, dear, you should come to tea at my house sometime! I'd dearly love it, indeed I would, wouldn't I, Victor?"
"Hmmm?" interjected Victor.
Distaste flickered across Sophronia's face for the briefest nanosecond before she turned back to her new 'friend'. "Would you phone me when you're available, Katie dear? Or would you like me to phone you?"

Katie was surprised by the offer. She smiled gently at Sophronia and answered,"Oh, I could call you if you don't mind. I'll have to check when I have free time."
Victor seemed to be thinking about something else. Well he did have wedding plans and Sophronia just gave him a kiss so his mind might be stuck on that ((hehe ;D)).

Soresta smiled, "Glad I could help you in the keeping you on your toes." He looked at the others for a moment, "well I'm am so glad you all are having fun." He looked down at Katie who was under his arm. "You are having a great time to right? I would never want such an important guest bored." He added emphasis on the important part as if it was an inside joke.

"Important, huh," she said. "When have I ever been important to you?" Soresta had always picked on her. "And no I am not bored due to you. You scare me every five minutes of my life. Next time you do it you're gonna be so sorry when I die of a heart attack." She gestured toward her heart like she was actually having one and giggled.

Soresta laughed, "ah, you're heart is too healthy for that my dear. It'd take something really big to scare you... maybe I should get a Tiger..." He shook his head at the thought as if it was just a silly idea.

Hmmm...they're farther along than even I had anticipated....
Sophronia laid a gentle hand on her newly-determined-friend's arm, trying to disregard the uncommonly silly remark about the summons of a tiger given by the allegedly dignified host, and smiled. "I hope you have a lovely time. Perhaps we shall meet up again later this evening?"
Victor nodded in agreement, draping his somewhat long arms around Sophronia's shoulders, before patting her back and announcing, "I believe I see some business partners of mine over there, my dear, and I'd dearly love to introduce you. Would you do me the honour?"
Sophronia's eyes glinted as she stared up becomingly through her stylishly long lashes. "But of course, Victor my love."
Victor gave a coy wink, which was totally unlike the shy, socially awkward person he'd displayed before. But Sophronia knew he was not quite the charletan as she, though incredibly close to it, thus the action was not unexpected. "Shall we, then?" he inquired, holding out his arm.
"We shall," agreed Sophronia, giving Katie one last parting look with, "I'll be expecting your call, dear!" before parading off, with Victor, to hunt the vast field of gold.
"I say," admitted Victor, "I've never done something that forth-right before..."
"Oh, you ninny," scowled Sophronia Gwendolyn, "You hopeless ninny."
"Whatever you say, Sophie, dear..." complied Victor.

Katie nodded and said goodbye to the couple and watched them as they left. Then turning to Soresta, who still had his arm draped around her she smiled. "A tiger? You really think a tiger could scare me, Soresta, dear?"
She took a sip of the wine in her hand. It wasn't her favorite flavor, but she drank it anyway. She tilted her head giving a curios look.

"Alright, don't forget to have some fun Victor." Soresta smiled then looked at Katie, "no... you're right... more like a polar bear might work... it'd have to charge you though... Then I may frighten you." He laughed a little at the small joke. He took a small sip of his wine, swallowing slowly to cherish the flavor.
"So you aren't afraid of tigers... do you still have a weakness? Not all of us can be super heroes." He gave her a goofy smile, as if to implicate a man flying away.
